Straight leg jeans
- Straight leg jeans are straight right through the leg, whereas the bottom is flared out a bit in bootcut jeans.
- Straight leg jeans can be worn high or low at the waist, and would mostly be straight at the thigh, which means that they don’t cling.
- Check out our straight jeans guide by clicking on the picture above.
Wide leg jeans
- They occupy the world between bootcut and flare.
- The fashion world is always crossing over!
- Even more confusing is that some wide legs have tighter upper legs.
- Don’t fear them because they flatter just about any figure and no they don’t just make you seem bigger than you are, if you get the look right.

The Jeans Story
When you’re sitting in your blue jeans have you ever wondered where it all started? We have two guys in San Francisco to thank for ur skinny and boyfriend jeans.
Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss are the founders of the blue jean. In the 1850′s they started selling denim overalls to miners and 20 years later they started riveting them for extra strength.
Today Levi Strauss is the largest maker of jeans in the world and they even have an archive containing jeans over a hundred years old!
The world’s oldest pair was found by four guys in San Diego, while exploring a mine. When we wrote this they were being auctioned on eBay with a highest bid so far of over $41,000
Jeans started off being worn by workers, but became the ultimate symbol of rebellious youth in the fifties. Think of James Dean in “Rebel Without A Cause” or Marlon Brando and his bike in “The Wild One”.
The trend spread across the world and today American’s spend more than $16 billion on jeans each year! In the 1880′s jeans cost $1.50. Now we spend over $200 on top designer jeans. At Zafu we review over a hundred brands from $25 to over $250.

Women love zafu
I’m a size 14 and it’s hard to find jeans that don’t bind, or they just don’t look or fit right. I am in love with my new pair of jeans. Thanks so much.
I didn’t think perfect fitting jeans existed! I so rarely go to the store, it’s so painful. Now you’ve given me a MEGA list of jeans that work just for me!
I love your site and have purchased several jeans at your recommendation and they are the best fitting jeans I have ever had. Everything you said about the fit was true!
I’d given up finding clothes that fit. But, I ordered a pair of jeans based on your recommendations. Holly cow, I’ve never been so happy with a pair of jeans. Ever.
I love the suggestions you’ve made for my jeans and you’ve been “right on” regarding fit and flattery, and I look forward to your developing finding bras next.
Fashion is my life but even I have trouble finding jeans in my size. I bought a pair you recommended and I wear them all the time – they’re the best. Thanks!
This is the best website ever. I usually have to try on dozens of jeans before I find a pair that fit. I went & purchased a pair that you recommended & they were superb.
I love your site! It really works. I printed my list and headed to the store! I found several pair of jeans THAT REALLY FIT and could choose which I liked best
I usually wear a small size in plus jeans but I tried a pair of regular jeans you suggested and they’re a perfect fit. What a joy.
So I came across your site and thought, “I’ll give it a try. What can it hurt?” Besides, as a mom of a toddler, I’m really into online shopping and research to save time and money. Oh my gosh! What a find!! I filled out the “About Me” sections, got back some 45 jeans and found one I could find at a local store. (Sorry, but I refuse to buy a pair of jeans without trying them on first.) I went straight to them once I got to the store, tried them on, and bought them. That quick and easy! Now I’m such a believer in your site I’ll even buy jeans online. In fact, I may never buy any clothes again without checking with zafu first! Thank you so much for such a time- and money-saving site. I can’t wait till you branch out to include tops, suits, shoes, bags… but I guess I’m getting ahead, huh!
