It’s all about your pockets!

How can you tell Joe’s from Jag or Guess from Gap? That’s right, look at the back pocket design!

The premium jeans craze has brought with it an obsession. For some, back pocket spotting has become a consuming pastime (although I suspect our partners have ulterior motives).

Every brand has their signature stitch, color, shape or design. Besides flaunting your exquisite good taste, back pockets can do far more for you.

You know if they look fab or frumpy, we’ll tell you why. Gone are the days when the back pocket was simply a utilitarian feature..

Embellished

Heavy embellishments can really punch up the wow factor on a pair of jeans.

With the care and craftsmanship that goes into today’s jean pocket designs, it sometimes seems sacrilegious to even use them.

No matter how appealing they are on a hanger, the true test of any pocket is how it looks on your butt.

Not every design is for every body, we’ll help you find what will work for you. We’re going to show you the different styles to look out for...

Flaps and Special Shaping

From tailored to flirty, flap back pockets add interest and character to your jeans.

MEK, Hudson, True Religion are just some of the brands where you’ll find flap back pockets.

For special shaping, technology and art meld.

The shaping and corners really flatter your seat. This creates pockets with an extra lift. Many of us can use the help!

Basic and Oversize Pockets

Basic stitching was pioneered by Levi’s with their famous arcuate. Wrangler is another great example of basic stitching.

Did you know that in the 2nd World War Levi’s replaced the stitching and used marker pens to save thread?

Oversized pockets are funky and fresh, but not for everyone. they hand low and make small butts look perky and bigger butts look, well, bigger – ouch!

.

You can also find jeans with no back pockets at all. be careful as these can accentuate the size of your butt and be quite unflattering. Finally, there are trouser jean. Wear with care is our advice as they don’t work for everyone.

Designers are constantly coming up with exciting new variations on an original that was started in the late 1800′s. We’ll keep you up to date and shoe you what will work best for your look.
